Looking for some DIY backyard design ideas?
Adding a sod top to your metal garden tables turns average lawn furniture into unique and charming backyard decor. We recently found this grass table idea on HGTV and liked it so much that we wanted to share it with other home lawn enthusiasts. First you'll want to measure your metal tables to see how much Tucson sod you will need. Measure this the way you would measure your lawn: Multiply the length of the area by the width of the area and this will give you the total square footage of sod needed.
Once you've done this, it's time to cut the sod into the proper shapes. If you don't have a sod-cutter, a dry-wall saw will do the trick. Cut out the shapes to fit the tables.
Next, line your metal tables with burlap bags. This will help keep your soil intact, which will keep your sod alive and fresh. It also allows for water to pass through. Note: Be sure your metal tables have holes in them too.
Finally, carefully place the sod inside the inner ridge of the table and gently press into place. Make sure to water frequently and then show off to all your friends!
