Tifway is used on more professional sports fields and golf courses than any other bermuda grass variety. Tifway has extraordinary durability combined with a dark green, medium fine texture. Tifway 419 is a great choice for home lawns, sports fields, and golf fairways. Tifway can be mowed with a sharp rotary motor, or a reel mower can be used for a more manicured look.
Tifgreen has a very fine texture and a bright green color. This variety was originally developed for use on golf course greens and is your best choice if you prefer a highly manicured appearance. Tifgreen is still used on some golf greens, but it also makes and excellent choice for fairways and home lawns. Tifgreen can be mowed with a sharp rotary mower, however, we recommend a reel mower for best results.
TifGrand Bermuda is scientifically developed to withstand up to 60% shade, only requiring about 4-5 hours of direct sunlight. It may require higher maintenance in full sun conditions, and can be mowed with a reel or sharp rotary mower. Its fine texture and dark green color makes for a great grass for home lawns, sports fields, or shaded tee boxes on golf courses. TifGrand is a true sun and shade grass!
Palmetto is a semi-dwarf St. Augustine grass and is our best performer in shady conditions. Palmetto also thrives in full sunlight and is the most heat-tolerant of all St. Augustine cultivars. Palmetto has a coarse texture with a soft leaf. Palmetto makes a stunning bright green turf. Palmetto should not be over-seeded in the winter. Palmetto should be mowed with a sharp rotary mower.
Tifdwarf was originally developed for golf course greens to provide a higher quality putting surface than Tifgreen. Tifdwarf has a finer texture and darker color than Tifgreen. Tifdwarf makes and excellent putting green surface that will tolerate mowing heights down to 1/8" of an inch, or it can be mowed at 3/8" for home lawns. Tifdwarf must be mowed with a finely adjusted reel mower or “greens” mower.
The newest greens grass to be introduced in the United States, MiniVerde is a true ultra-dwarf bermudagrass for use on high quality putting greens. The top performer in a two year study by the USGA, it has an extremely dark green color, extremely fine texture, early spring green-up, and low thatch accumulation. It will tolerate mowing heights down to .100, has good cold tolerance, and can be irrigated with reclaimed water. For use on high quality golf greens only!
TifEagle is the third generation of bermudagrass varieties developed exclusively for golf greens at the Coastal Plains Experiment Station in Tifton GA. Just as Tifdwarf replaced Tifgreen 328 as the standard for putting greens over the last three decades, TifEagle promises to set an even higher standard for the 21st century. Used on more golf courses than any other ultradwarf, TifEagle is the standard that all other greens are measured by.
The most drought tolerant hybrid bermudagrass we have ever seen, this is one tough grass! The newest grass to be developed out of the University of Georgia research program, this is their crown jewel. TifTuf is dark green, fine textured, and yet can survive on 30% less water than the best hybrid bermudagrasses. It looks much like Tifway and can be used to replace or repair Tifway. TifTuf also has improved winter color and will green up quicker in the spring than other bermudas. It can be mowed with a reel mower or a sharp rotary mower.
